We came to Maine for years before we moved here full time.  A lot of people dislike the moniker Vacationland - but I think that it is perfect.  I still remember the thrill of driving across the bridge and seeing the sign:  "Welcome to Vacationland!",  and being so happy to be here!  This painting captures that feeling - the happiness of a summer evening on the water where every color, sound and feeling are somehow amplified.  This painting is inspired by a plein-aire painting that I painted at a nearby boat launch.  Enjoy dipping your toe into Vacationland!
